The Korea Magazine Information Center (Museum) opened its door to the public on March 21, 2002 to lead the new era of knowledge and information in the 21st century, enhance the international competitiveness of the Korean magazine industry in the digital age, and contribute to the creation of a healthy magazine industry and the enhancement of national culture. The museum is Korea’s first and only public information center consisting of a museum which preserves and displays 9,000 types of historic and old magazines and their inaugural issues, including the first issues of 「Chinmokhoe-Hoebo (Social Club newsletter」 and 「Daejoseon Independence Club newsletter」, as well as an exhibition hall that displays around 4,000 types of magazines currently published in Korea each month.
